When a great crowd followed Jesus into a remote place and grew hungry, the disciples saw only a boy's lunch — five loaves and two fish. Jesus gave thanks, broke the bread, and multiplied it to feed over five thousand, collecting twelve baskets of leftovers. This miracle, the only one recorded in all four Gospels, reveals Jesus as the Bread of Life.

Thousands come to hear Jesus teach
A great big crowd of people came to hear Jesus teach. There were so many people — over five thousand men, plus women and children! They listened to Jesus all day long because His words were so wonderful. But as the day went on, the sun started to go down, and everyone began to get very hungry.
