John 10:11
👂 Listen to the Story
In John chapter 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd who knows each sheep by name. Unlike a hired hand who runs away when danger comes, the Good Shepherd protects His flock and even lays down His life for them. This beautiful metaphor teaches us about Jesus' personal love and sacrifice for every person.
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
— John 10:11
A shepherd tends his hundred sheep on green hills
Jesus told a story to help people understand how much God loves us. He said, 'Imagine a shepherd who has one hundred sheep. Every day he leads them to green grass and fresh water. He knows each sheep by name — every single one. He counts them each night to make sure they are all safe.' In this story, the sheep are like us, and the shepherd is like God.
